Interesting to note that in 11AD Shrove Tuesday (pancake day) becomes the traditional way to use up dairy products before Lent... and in 1445 the all female annual pancake race began in a little town called Olney, England. A fortuitous combination of ripe bananas and the launch of Royal Baking Powder put hordes of enterprising food writers to develop a most delicious classic!
