We’re excited to be offering an intensive and personalised format to develop your Food Styling skills: one-on-one training with internship opportunities.
If our exciting week-long training is not suitable for your lifestyle, you can now choose to learn specific segments and aspects of food styling in a more flexible and tailored way.
In our one-on-one sessions, you get to work alongside Annaleze and Natalie, on an actual client project as an intern, and focus on your requirements.
This course includes:
- A custom design Runway Radish Toolkit, curriculum notes per segment and a surprise Runway Radish gift.
- Intense and personalised attention, where the focus of your learning will be tailored to your specific needs, goals and interests.
- Theory and practical preparation around the food styling skill that will be focused on, as well as the general basics for all ‘food and makeup’ sessions with clients or projects.
- Learning about working with a client, including the brief from a client and pre-preparation for a project.
- Practically applying your learnings with doing the preparation, while being supervised by one of our Food Styling Experts.
- Experiencing a live set and client face-time and running on the shoot from a food stylist perspective.
These one-on-one sessions are ideal if you:
- prefer to learn food styling techniques at your own pace, and when it suits you.
- want practical experience as an intern with references for future job applications.
- are starting your portfolio and would like client images to add to it.
- need to pace your learning to suit your budget.
- prefer learning in a more intimate, private style, with your own personal Tutor who’s focused on you.
- like an interactive learning environment where you can ask questions as you go along.
- want to learn about building a career with insights into your chosen sector.
Apply for this one-on-one internship style of learning with keeping these points in mind:
- The actual times and dates of your one-on-one training will be dependent on when the internship opportunity will be available.
- You need to be flexible with your time, as internships mean you will be on a live, current client project and so need to work the hours necessary at the client’s directive.
- You will need to pay upfront for that segment.
- Come ready for intense and focused attention on your learning.

“You need to understand that you are working on someone else’s vision. They have a vision of the perfect burger in their head and you need to realize that image. It’s not your burger, let it go, be flexible.”
“Start with quality ingredients for a winning plate.”
“Food stylists are the first to arrive on set and the last to leave.”
“Good prep work equals a good shoot.”
“Exaggerate the details without over-promising. If a burger was photographed alongside 12 chips then 12 chips must arrive on a customer’s plate. Styling is a delicate balance of aspiration and accuracy.”
